Combining adventure with practical mountain craft, this immersive experience leads you through breathtaking mountain landscapes to a summit camp beneath the stars, followed by an unforgettable sunrise. Ideal for those with busy lives who still crave meaningful adventure, it’s a powerful way to build confidence, develop essential outdoor skills, and experience the wild beauty of Scotland in one memorable weekend.

**We will provide camping stoves per pair, tent per pair and selection of dehydrated meals**

Clothing (Layering System)

Moisture-wicking base layer (merino or synthetic)
Mid layer (fleece or lightweight insulated jacket)
GORE-TEX waterproof jacket (fully taped seams, breathable membrane)
Waterproof over-trousers (GORE-TEX or similar technical shell)
Walking trousers or softshells (avoid jeans)
Warm hat and gloves (even in summer)
Buff or neck gaiter
Spare dry layer

Footwear

Sturdy hiking boots (mid/high cut for ankle support)
Vibram sole recommended for grip
Merino hiking socks (plus spare pair)

Backpack & Essentials

50L daypack minimum
Waterproof liner or dry bags
1.5–2 litres of water (hydration bladder or bottles)
Headtorch + batteries
Personal first aid kit
Sun cream and sunglasses
Trekking poles (optional but helpful on descent)

Start Point: Loch Morlich to Corrour Bothy
Distance: 22 miles (11 miles per day)
Total Ascent: 2,974 ft
Duration: 2 days

Day 1 – Loch Morlich to Corrour Bothy

Begin your adventure at Loch Morlich and trek through the Lairig Ghru Pass, beneath the towering flanks of Braeriachand Cairn Toul. Along the way, discover the breathtaking landscapes, wildlife, and flora of the Cairngorms. Cover roughly 11 miles today, gradually ascending through varied terrain, arriving at Corrour Bothy. Depending on weather, set up camp nearby or continue to a suitable spot on the open Cairngorm plateaux for a night under the stars.

Day 2 – Summit & Return

Wake early to ascend to a summit spot in time for sunrise (Devils point), taking in the dramatic panoramic views of the Cairngorms at first light. The total ascent over the two days is 2,974 ft, split between today’s climb and yesterday’s trekking. After enjoying the summit, descend safely, retracing your route through the Lairig Ghru Pass back to Loch Morlich, completing a rewarding and unforgettable multi-day adventure.

You do not need technical climbing experience however, you should:

Be comfortable carrying camping and personal equipment walking for 6–8 hours

Have a good level of general fitness

Be confident on uneven, rocky terrain

Have some prior hillwalking experience (strongly recommended)

It’s suitable for seasoned hikers who prepare well, wear proper hiking boots, and understand that mountain weather can change quickly.
